The Yonkin Photo Catalogue
The Yonkin family has assembled a treasure of old family photos, as well as assorted post
cards, documents and other old photographs of the area. The photo's have been passed down through
several generations of Yonkin ancestors and extended family including the Hottenstein, Mosier,
Bahr, Kast, Henshaw, Mills, Graifley and Reeser families among others.
Contributions from Ada Henshaw (1883-1976), wife of Howard Yonkin (1878-1969), from her personal scrapbook and genealogy records
are especially significant sources of family history.

The direct line of descent, following immigration to the United States, of the contributors of this information is a follows:
1. Henry Yonkin Sr (1774 -1851)
2. Peter Yonkin (1821-1897)
3. Joseph Yonkin (1850-1919)
4. Howard Yonkin (1878-1969)
5. Carl Yonkin (1907-1981) & Robert Yonkin (1905-1997)
With the exception of Carl Yonkin, all the above family members are buried at Peace Cemetery. Carl Yonkin and his son Leon Yonkin
(1931-2009) are buried at Fairview Cemetery and son Jacob Yonkin (1946-2010) at St Basils Cemetery, all in Sullivan County.
Special thanks to Alberta Molyneux, Steve Garver and Jim Yonkin for the coordination and cataloging of this information. Alberta is daughter of
Carl Yonkin (1907- 1981) and Florence Kast (1910-1990). Steve's wife, Shirley Yonkin, is the daughter of Robert Yonkin (1905-1997) and
Evelyn Hottenstein (1915-2008). Shirley's siblings include Joseph, William and Carolynn.
Jim Yonkin is the Grandson of Carl Yonkin (1907- 1981), Son of Leon Yonkin (1931-2009) and
Marian Houseknecht (1936-2017) and nephew of Alberta Molyneux.
