Peter BOWER, of Fairfield Twp., bled to death after cutting his leg with a scythe near the knee. He lived for about two hours after getting the cut. He died on Wednesday, 16th instant. Leaves a wife and several small children.

Hiram CREVLING, son of Alexander of Bloom Twp., Columbia Co. was killed by lightning on Wednesday afternoon. He had gone to the spring and, when returning, the storm struck and he took shelter under a tree.

Joseph HILL, died in Moreland Twp. on 6th instant, in the 74th year of his age. He was one of the fearless few who settled in this country when it was necessary for them to have their firelocks at hand, to protect them from the depredations of the Indians. He served in the Revoltionary War and lived to see the wilderness in which he settled become a fruitful field. He was respected by all who knew him.

Thomas PUDEGRAFF, Jr., died on Tuesday morning last after a lingering illness in Williamsport, aged about 22 years.

Chief GAR -YAN-WAH-GAH (or "Cornplanter") died on the 7th Feb. on the Seneca Reservation in PA, aged about 100 years.
