Mary M.,
wife of Benjamin Thrasher, of Cherry, died February 14, aged 47 years two months
and three days. The funeral, which
was held at the Evangelical church in this place on Friday last, was very
largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends.
Interment at
Thrasher’s cemetery.
About a year
ago deceased underwent an operation for removal of a cancer, and it was hoped
that she would entirely recover. These hopes were destined to be of sort duration, for the trouble soon
returned in a more malignant form and for months she had been a great
sufferer. Her death, while a severe
blow to her husband and friends, is a merciful release from pain, and the
beginning of a life immortal. Rest
in peace.
