Editor's Note: We are indebted to Mike Clarke of Hillsgrove, PA for providing a version of this part of the famous Streby History in PDF format. You can link to the document below by clicking on the page links. Mike is one of our best informed and most committed contributors to the Sullivan County Genealogical Web Page and we thank him once again for his contributions. In addition, we have provided a searchable version of this history, which was transcribed by Connie Hembree Gaban of Bakersfield, CA. Connie is also a long time participant in preparing documents for this web site. You will find the link to her version just after the Table of Contents below.

Streby's History was first issued between 1903 and 1905, then reissued under the supervision of Clara A. (Streby) Ring, daughter of George Streby, in 1921. The postcards provdied in this version of the history were assembled and introduced into the text by the staff of the Sullivan County Historical Society and Museum. The headings entered sporadically in the list of pages below are the actual headings from the original text. We have also, on our own decision, provided a subject listing for pages where the text did not have a heading to start with.
